NOTE: the Christmas and Hot Ribbon block of the month are now finished. the finishing patterns and kits are the same cost as the individual blocks and are ready for pick-up.

January 4th - Wednesday - 9:30
Quilters Sit and Sew

You are cordially invited to join this great group of ladies for a morning of sewing, conversation and sharing. they meet at our shop on the first and third Wednesday of each month and would love to have you join them.

January 10th - Tuesday - 1:00 - 3:00
"HQ Avante"

After all of those hours picking out the perfect fabric, cutting out all of the pieces, establishing a textbook quarter inch seam, and sewing and ripping, you finally have a pieced quilt top. Now, enjoy 2 hours learning how to quilt it using our wonderful Avante quilting machine. After you have taken the class, you can rent the machine and quilt your creation. Class size is limited to 4, so register early.

"Pillowcase Day"

We have once again started our monthly "Conker Cancer Pillowcase Day" and would like you to join us for our "Pillowcase" kick off - 2012! We would love for you to be involved, whether you can stay one hour, or all day. We need people to cut, sew, press, package and laugh, to help us reach our goal. All of the fabric and supplies are donated and we would appreciate any 100% cotton material you might have laying around. they will all be donated to various cancer centers and given to children and adults. Our GREAT ladies have sewn over 800 pillowcases in 2011 and are being challenged to double that in 2012. Please join us and be a part of this great project!

"Creative Doodling"

Artistic Creative Doodling - Paper, Fabric and Beyond
Remember back in school when you were bored in class, and to pass the time you doodled all over your notebooks and papers? Do you still doodle on your phone book or whatever happens to be at hand? Well, the time has come to graduate to Artistic Doodling, also called Zentangle, Zendoodle, Line Drawing. - Sue will teach you how to transform what was once mindless scribbling into creative works of art. Stop in the store to see what we're talking about.
WARNING: Artistic Doodling will BECOME ADDICTIVE! And So much fun!!!! the possibilities are endless!

"Beginning Hand Quilting"

Join Jeanie for a relaxing 2 hours remembering days gone by. this age old tradition is almost a lost art.
Besides, it is really a good technique to know if the power goes out!

"New Beginning Quilting Class"

This three part class will cover every part of making a quilt. You will learn about fabric, thread, various tools, cutting and piecing techniques, borders, bindings, and hand and machine quilting. When the class is over and your finished quilt is completely pieced, Doris will quilt it for you and you will have made your first quilt.

Big-Blocks "Tree of Life" - Part 1

This beautiful Tree of Life Quilt is constructed with four Big Blocks. the diamond free blocks use only squares and rectangles to create perfect points every time. In the class you will be working on one block which can then be made as a One Big Block Wall Hanging or make more blocks to create a beautiful quilt! the Big Blocks sew together quickly and really show off your special fabrics. Create an entire ensemble of quilt, pillow and curtains using this diamond free technique and large-scale format.

"Super Quilting" Tail Gate Party"

Join us for our version of a Super Quilting Tail Gate Extravaganza! We will have lots of food, some new quilting tools and techniques, helpers for cutting, pressing, and ripping, and even a Power Point presentation "All About Color". Handouts will be provided and please feel free to bring that piece of fabric you just don’t know what to do with. Bring your sewing machines or just hand work and stay as long as you like! All of our staff will be there to help anywhere we are needed. - It will be FUN! Please call the shop and let us know if you are coming.

"Featherweight Workshop"

This class is designed to teach you about the care and maintenance of your Featherweight machine. We will cover that pesky tension adjustment as well as other problems that may occur. this is a hands on class, so bring your machine. When we are done with the service and tension you will learn how to use your attachments to make tucks, ruffles, hems, and even quilt.

February 11th - Saturday - 10:00 - 3:30
"Crazy Quilting as you go"

We will be incorporating the quilt as you go technique in this Crazy Quilt. Rather then sewing your blocks on muslin, we will be sewing our blocks on batting with a fun backing and sashing it all together for a great throw quilt. Dig out that old box of trims, because anything goes with this quilt. More is actually better in this case.

"Sunflower Hot Ribbon"

Create an elegant Sunflower Wall Hanging with this fun, 'no-sew' appliqué technique using fusible Hot Ribbon for easier and faster finished raw edges. Hot Ribbon gives an added dimension and depth to the design. the final enhancement to the Sunflower is using Copic Markers to add shading, color and detail. this is such a fun technique, and not hard to do, I promise!!!

"Moroccan Tiles"

This great ten sided shape, which is new to the quilt world, can be easily accomplished with the new Jewel box tools. If you have been having trouble with all of those seams that come together in the center of a star, (and don’t like having to beat them into submission), let Doris show you a few helpful techniques.

“Counter Change Smocking”

Join Peggy as she teaches you this quick and easy smocking technique. There is no pleating required, either with a pleater or pleating dots. This is a great technique to do on the go as it is easily accomplished right in your lap. We will be smocking a childs’ apron but the technique is easily applied to any project.

"Festive Poinsettia"

While creating this beautiful Poinsettia wall hanging, you will be learning the awesome technique of raw edge appliqué’ and fusible ribbon. Not only does this ribbon cover the raw edges of your appliqué with out sewing, but, the Hot Ribbon gives an added dimension and depth to the design. the final enhancement to the poinsettia is using Copic markers to add shading, color and detail. this is such a fun technique and not hard to do, so join Sue and get a head start on the 2012 Christmas Holidays.

"Naples Quilt Show"

"Rock Candy"


This entire quilt is made from 2 ½" strips, and will form fabulous fabric crystal shapes using this quick cutting and sewing technique. three different settings are included in the pattern, but there are endless layout possibilities. No two quilts will be alike.

"Paper Pieced Star"


Learn how to accurately piece a quilt block, in a few simple steps, by sewing a straight line on a paper foundation pattern. You can piece the tiniest of pieces and the sharpest of points!  Easy even for a beginning quilter and it's just plain FUN! Already a 'paper-piecer"? Join us for this great class to review some of the old techniques and maybe learn a few new ones.

"Contra dance" Part 1


This pattern may seem complicated, but it has just three simple blocks set in straight rows, then cut and re-sewn into an on-point setting. there are no diagonal rows, no setting triangles and no corner blocks, which make on-point settings a snap.
